Sorry to hear about your tank. I will be following your build. Did you decide to go with eurobracing this time around? I noticed it in your sketch.

Its here! It's finally here!
Got the call that the new tank had arrived last night at 5 and I had it in my house by 545 :mrgreen:
You will notice in the pictures that the overflow is on the opposite side from the renderings.. honest mistake on my part and miscommunication with the builder. Oh well, no problems! It will work just the same!

Anyways, here is a couple shots of the tank on the stand (iPhone 5). Plumbing has already commenced today.. will have pictures of that later.

Plumbing: Done.
Freshwater Leak Test: Successful. (& no overtightened bulkheads this time...:razz
As you can see, I didn't plumb a manifold off of my return piping as I am going to have a dedicated Maxijet to run them.
Again, sorry about the iPhone pics. Roomate has the camera with him.
Will start filling with RO when I am home from work tomorrow hopefully. Until then, cheers.:mrgreen:

your tank is looking great and you wont regret the t5 they are the best imo they are proven and reasonable cost wise good luck how are you feeling about the noise from the vortechs

Thanks! I do not have one actually.. Might have to look into having one made or DIYing one.
Glad to have you intrigued!
I agree, and am looking forward to seeing my corals respond positively to them. How high above the water level should I have my Powermodule to start, to acclimate my corals? Someone else can chime in here too.
The vortechs are quite noisy, and especially noticable as the tank is located right in the main living area of the condo.. might have to look into a couple 6105s and part with the mp40s

Yea I recommend getting a lid for the overflow. It prevents fishes and snails from going in there and algae growth. I'll try to take a picture of mine to show you. It's very simple to make and stays in one spot with adhesive rubbers.

Care to explain why would you advise this? Just because he has a herbie does not mean fish and snails can't get into his overflow.

Yeah I did a herbie on my last tank and it ran flawlessly and silently. Like toofrigginswt said, the lid would be more of a preventative measure against fish and inverts getting into the overflow box.
I used eggcrate as a lid for my overflow on my last tank but something more proffessional would be cool!
