We can all learn from this!

Great article....really makes you think and consider. Thanks for bringing it in! Keep bumping it, there are so many of us that could really benefit from it!

Ok bump!

I left this group about a year ago and have just recently come back. I did this after frustration over some of the same reasons you mentioned. The funny thing is, I know just enough to be a newbe at this. I was seeing the same type post everyday and some " so called expert " acting like a idiot. When you first get into this hobby, you dont know enough to even ask a good question. As time goes on, you get bored hearing the same thing everyday. I agree with everything you said 1000% ( except puntuation ) I'm the worlds worst. My only suggestion is just remember we are all here for different reasons. To learn, to teach, or just to have fun. Its a great hobby and thanks to all who have helped me.

Good article, thanks for posting the link and encouraging us all to read it. I've read it before (and just read it again!) and found the info really useful. Some of the fights that start here over things like BB vs. DSB or tank size for certain fish get REALLY nasty, it's good to have a reminder that we're all in this together.

That was exactly my intentions ACBlinky. Most of us have read 900 threads about why a tang can't fit in a 55 gallon tank but we have to assume that the person posting has not. We were all new to this hobby at some point so we all can relate. Heck I remember how stupid I felt when I was toping off my tank with saltwater. But how was I supposed to know. I mean the tank is saltwater. Duh! I would probably still be doing it wondering why all my fish were floating at the surface if it wasn't for this website. Try and do as the article says, point people to the right forum instead of ignoring the post. If you have heard the question asked 500 times then use the knowledge you have from the previous 499 posts. We can make this hobby so much more enjoyable by all working towards helping others.

Ok, some of the people who commented that it was a great article, are still not using proper capitalization and punctuation! LOL!

Thanks for posting this! I am certain I have been guilty of at least a few of these mistakes in the past, but now being aware of them will make them less frequent! Cheers.

Good read, I hope more people read it and follow it! I try too and I will continue to. I just wish other people would. I dont know how many times I've seen someone ask a question and instead of getting a answer they just get a comment on how many times that question has been asked before. It would be more worth while to spend that time answering the question intead of just putting them down calling the stupid and moving on. If you bennifit from RC, contribute to RC, if you have an attitude and would rather put people down, then go to Reefs.org (just kidding)
