My wife went to feed our brittlestar. The rest of the fish are in a hospital tank.
At any rate she called me in raving about this weird creature in the tank. She had just turned the room light on and this thing that looked like the underfoot of a snail but round and about 2 1/2 inches across was on the glass. It was a big almost translucent creamy circle. It had a slightly more dense creamy center. It flowed fairly quickly off the glass, onto a colt coral, then down the stalk of the coral into a crevice. The top was muddy brown with dark brown speckles on it. It was unclear where the organs on this creature were. I was thinking Nudibanch but when it moved onto the colt coral it was paper thin. It moved about 3/4 inch per second. It was fast! It moved like mercury, smooth and flowing, no apparent source of motion.
Does anyone know what this thing is? Very weird to say the least.
Thanks,
Scuba
