Weird PBT

Strange. I see the scalpel sticking out and the area looks to be swollen. Is that where the mirror is or is that just how much the tank reflects? I'm kinda at a loss to tell you what to try next but that scalpel sticking out with the area being swollen is concerning. Easy spot for other things like bacterial infections to take hold. Do you have a smaller QT type tank you can setup and leave it with ambient light until the tang heals?

thats where the mirror was (I took it down). I do have a QT that I use often but this tang is IMPOSSIBLE to get out. I've tried a few times with no luck. I see it sitting at the cleaning station now and one of the shrimp is on it. I guess I'll see how it looks tomorrow and take it from there. I just hope that barb can pull itself back in.

In my experience about 1/3 of PBT are real SOB. Very aggressive. 1/3 are very, very docile and the other 1/3 are somewhere inbetween. the very aggressive PBT I have had I've always rehomed.

yeah I've heard they can be really aggressive...this one is awesome though...just minds its own business all day.

figured I'd just give an update. the PBs scalpel has fallen off and it's growing back now. the inflammation is completely gone and it looks like it's going to be back to normal.

it's definitely calmed down some, but it does have a freak out every once and a while and starts darting around the tank. it's still not bothering anyone else though so I guess aggression is still non existent.
