Weird Problem

I rebooted (aka...unplugged the usb cable) from my Apex controller yesterday, because I came home to all my pumps shut off, and nothing would make them turn on. After the reboot, it seemed fine, but since then, I get this email every hour:

Alarm Statement: If Power Apex Off 001 Then ON

Feb 03 2011 14:22:42
Temp pH ORP
78.6 8.21 000
LeftTunze is Day_L Auto
RightTunze is Day_R Auto
Unused_VarSp is Night_L Auto

<< snip >>

VO8 is OFF Auto
Power Failed: Feb 02 2011 22:21:52
Power Restored: None
Power OK: EB8_3 (0 Days 20:45 - 3.2 Amps)

Also, when I connect to it with my iphone, it shows up with a red dot and says 'power failed on 2/2/11 10:21 pm'. I can't seem to clear this setting. Any idea on how to clear this? I'm sure it is something stupid on my part...

Thanks!

Tim

It looks like it is not recognizing that power has been restored. You may have to email Neptune on this: support@neptunesys.com. Before doing that though, telnet in and issue the 'reboot' command. You can also do this via the display unit under System > Net Setup > Restart. This will restart the unit without having to remove power.

No luck. I restarted it through the Network setup menu, and it just continued the same behavior with a power lost time of today at 5:40 (when I did it) rather than the old date and time. Any other ideas?

If you remove that 'if Power Apex' statement from your email alarm outlet, do the emails stop?

If so, add the statement back. Do they start again?

Alan...

If I remove that line, the emails stop. It also shows that 'outlet' as OFF on the status page.

If I add it back, the emails return, and the outlet status changes to ON.

Also, even when I had it removed, I still had "Power failed on 2/4/11 9:00 PM!" when I access it via the iPhone Aquanotes app.

I'm not sure what to do next, short of actually unplugging the EB8s one at a time and seeing if I can make it clear...

FYI, I'm on 4.04_BC10.

Thanks!

You need to contact Neptune support. The fact that it is showing 'None' on Power Restored is indicative of a problem. Do you have the Apex setup for remote telnet, ie port 23 forwarding?

Todd

I agree with Todd. But before you do, you can try to reload the firmware. It seems like there's a bit or flag that's set someplace that needs to be 'unset'. Perhaps a firmware reload will do that. It's a long shot and you'll probably have to email Neptune but I think it's worth a try.

Curt was able to point me toward the fix:

Shut off port failure monitor in the system->misc menu since I suspect you don’t have a backup power adapter plugged into the power connector of the Apex base module.

Thanks all!
