Weird worm ID

My live rock from the gulf of mexico gave me yet another strange hitchhiker.. this weird.. whatever it is. Looks like a tapeworm.

I couldn't get an accurate size comparison with the penny.. but I was able to size the mantis with it and zoom out for a more accurate size comparison between the animals. She was very curious and helped out a little :spin2:

Very cool. I have no idea what kind of worm that is. Perhaps a small peanut worm?

How long have you had the mantis?

Does it have medium or long tentacles on one end? If so, it's probably harmless. I doubt it's actually a tapeworm.

@Betta, Nope, it's just a long thin living string. I know it's not actually a tapeworm but it definitly would win the look-a-like reward. The worm was nearing the length of my arm and was as thin as dental floss!

This little gal I had for about 3 or more months. As you can see she's still a baby otherwise she'd be in a much bigger tank.. mostly because one day this tank will be leaking as she loves to hit glass and keeps me up all night.. This is in my 10 gallon. This live rock drives me nuts with how much life is in it.. speaking of the diversity thread earlier, welcome to the 10 gallon that has more life than my entire LFS.

Even all those pretty red plants just randomly grew out of no where from it. Some dragons breathe, branching bubble (what I'm calling it..), and this thin paper textured plant (I thought somebody glued it to my rock while I was asleep it looks so fake.)

Then I have noooo idea. The only thing I can think of that would be that long and thin is a species of fishing worm from Australia, and they're reddish-brown.
I haven't researched worms or anything.
Could it be a parasite? Maybe from a fish's guts?

No fish!

I did some research and he kinda resembles an oenonid.. which are parasitic to snails and clams and there are plenty of clams. Wish I took him out now..

That's possible too, he's all white but very smooth in appearence like one.
