A few months back I purchased a small male A. Frenatus for my 13 year old female. Not realizing exactly how much larger she was than the small male, I was concerned after I acclimated and introduced him into the tank. He took to the LTA immediately and since shes been a little elusive. hanging out in caves more than the LTA etc. Well, yesterday I get home from work and notice shes acting a little strange and lo and behold there's a clutch of eggs on the glass of the tank! I watched Loki (male) clean them and perhaps fertilize(?) them, and I watched her get super territorial. All this time Priscilla and Loki never really hung out with each other, but after 13 years i think shes just more of the independent type than most others. :)

Well, now I *have* to get a bigger tank as my yellow tang (rather small and named Bubbles of course) and my Nox Pygmy Angel (named Phred) patiently enjoyed a nibble here, a nibble there... and soon they were all gone. I'm not worried though, I'm thinking I will be witnessing this again next month...

Very very awesome.. I think clownfish have some amazing instincts.. They are a"common" fish to the trade but there really is nothing common about them.. Congrats!!

Sorry to hear about the other fishies eating the eggs. If you want to look into raising them Joyce Wilkersons clownfishes book and some places on the internet have a lot of great info about it.. very interesting to read up on!

Mine lay eggs every two weeks or so...then the blue linckia eats them. The coolest part is watching the male care for and 'fan' the eggs all day with his fins. While the female swims around having a good time..LOL.:D Congrats, and good luck with them!
