Very nice pics!! My wife loves the cat w/tongue pic.

How were you shooting the fish shots, they came out extremely nice

Those are really good pictures, did you photoshop them or is this straight from the camera?

congrats on the new cam - which lens did you end up getting?

Thanks.

I have yet to decide on the lens, I am using the 18-55MM for now.
Hopefully after some more research I will find a better lens.

LOL! I have the same camera and cant get as good of pics. Although, your subject matter is pretty spectacular anyway.

Only thing done in Photoshop 7.0 was an auto-contrast single pass.

This camera is amazing, much, much easier to use than my old nikon Coolpix 4300. Along with super fast memory this camera is joy to use and picture taking is now fun again.

And so begins another hobby, another adventure.......:reading:

You are much to modest my friend, your tank is spectacular. Simply put, your system is the cleanest I have ever seen.

OCD anyone??

Just curious, How do you focus so close with your 18-55mm? I have a d70s with a 18-70 and cannot get closer than 14" with it. Even my 60mm macro can't get shots like the cats eye or thread pattern.

sunny, great pics. I have a D50 as well with the 18-70mm DX lense that comes witht he D70 kit, and love it. My pics however dont look nearly as good as yours. Can you explain a little on how your shooting? what mode? Lighting conditions? Aperature and shutter speed?

Thanks,

Jeff

yes please doooo! I have the d70s and 28-70 macro and am not coming up with shots even close to that. Ive also noticed I cant adjust white balance in the macro mode?

Nothing really special was done. Full tank shots are set at landscape mode, fish and cat are set at portrait mode.

does the d50 have a super fast shutter for like action shots....ie withlout the delay often found in point and shoot cameras...Itoo am trying to decide between a D50 or a D70 or a rebel

It shoots pics very fast. I think alot depends also on the memory card speed you are using. I belive this camera does 2.5 Frames Per Second.
