so i was plumping my ro filter and being the moron that i am. i didnt double check my lines before i fired it up and , oops ran hot water through, has anyone ever had this happen to them? How will this affect my filter? it is a four stage. I have switched back to cold and it seems to be doing better, for a while there i had massive flow through the filter, i got a 5 gallon bottle in 20 minutes. any help would be great. thanks in advance.

I hate to tell ya but running hot water through a reverse osmosis membrane will permanatly damage it. I would run it for a few hours then test for TDS.

what should the tds amount read?

The closer to 0 the better.

The TDS of the RO output should be no more than 10% of the input water, and probably less, depending on the exact membrane in use.
