Well my nano is 1 year old now...

streak

Reef Madness!
And i only managed to kill a few snails, pulsing xena's (i belive its becuse i do to many water changes myself butt....) And some kenya tree is hanging on.
I do have a corline alge problem on the front and side of the tank.. I had to change out my lights finnaly becuse my compact floros were exactly a year old.
I setup my LED's i have 12 3wt 6 cool white 6 royal blue right now i have set the pots down to half.. and omg the shimmer. i hope i dont burn anything.

My nem is still alive.. it was the reason i hurried up and changed the lights. It expelled its zooxenthent bacteria on me.. scared me to death.. so the lights went on yesterday. i got some pics..

i gotta get some suggestions on how to get rid of the coraline alge off the glass if i catch it as a speck i can get it with the scrubber..

Hey there streak! Congrats on hitting 1 year. Glad to see you posting, I thought you might make it to Nanook's a few weeks back, but hopefully I'll catch you next time. :)

That nem looks like he's in need of a couple meals too. What are you feeding and how often? Just curious.

No optics at all.. on there as the depth on the 10g is what 15" if that. I have the lights about 7" above the water as well. I have been feeding the Nem 1-2 cubes of Krill and carnivore cube every other time i soak in some selco. Brad i watch the nem for when i see it spewing out white dots i know its close to meal time again ususelly every 2 days.

Its opened up alot since those pics ill go and take one right now..

Here are the latest picts lights been on about half the day.

I never noticed this before but on the Monticapora theres bumps on there and the mushroom looks real happy too.. So dose the nem..

that last pic the fish freaked out the nem by diving in and it folded up a bit.
reason for he micro bubbles was i just cleaned up my skimmer last night.. should settle down in day or so.

Don't get me wrong 15 bux each for 2x20wt 50/50 bulbs in a homade top like i did was not a bad way to start out my tank.. just using a standard perfecto hood and some plexiglass. I got the idea of indo pacifics sea farms video searies.. nano lagoon.. in fact besides me having a skimmer and few other things its exactly the same.. tank.

I think im might sell eventually the hood i bought for my 75(go leds) Im still waiting to get that setup.. all i gotta do is build the stand I want to use the 55g or one of my spare 40g breeders as a sump.. I have the return pump.. I guess i lack a spare return pump and circulation pumps. everthing else i have collected.

ohh btw the credit card worked mostly but i have a few stubburon ones i wonder if i can just buy any old razor scraper.. Anyhow i was attacked repeatedly when i got to other side of the tank where the nem was.. now i know why i lost the third nemo..they can bite! those 2 are definatly a bonded pair now almost a year old too. Its funny though there the same size..
ones allowed in the nem at all times the other only when its ok.. its funny to watch.

That nem is wanting more light for sure. It also looks like it needs more food. Might try getting some sea scallops to feed it and increase the lighting.

+1 the scallops are perfect because they come frozen seperately so you only hafta thaw what you use. I have had some good luck with them as well.

QUESTION: SCALLOPS? Can i use ones bought at any supermarket or do/can you suggest a particular store?
Thanks,
JFKP

Oh.... and CONGRATS on the anniversary too

I bought mine at Schnuck's cuz I'm high class like that, lol. I don't think it matters too much where you buy them. As long as they're fit for human consumption. And FYI, you can also feed shrimp like prawns from the same section. Just make sure you use appropriate sizes with any food source.

Well when i switched the lights over i turned down the leds to about half on the pots. This light is about at least 10x brighter than the compact floros.. Humm sea scallops.. do you get them frozen? or canned? I can pick up some raw shimp locally.

I guess i got some bad advice on the krill.. it was all the rage about 3 months ago.. expecially when i said on a thread about using silversides..

Ohh and also the darn nem moved outta its home ever since it got cought that time in the powerheads guard. but it never got hurt. Fixed the powerhead by adding a foam cover.
