Well system to get water to tanks?

i have been trying to figure out an economical way to move my RODI top off water, or water change water from basement to main floor.

i keep looking at pumps... trying to calculate the total distance and all that....

but a typical well system is just a pressure tank and that typically gets water to 2nd stories correct?

what prevents me from just pumping my RODI water or Mixed saltwater into a pressure tank and then to a " faucet" on main floor that i can hook a hose or something up to?

I have never had a well myself, but have an idea of the concept.... so not having hands on experience, what prevents me from doing this as opposed to buying a pump and the equipment that goes with it to accomplish the same thing?

seems the pump way would be a bit more work, even if less work than hauling buckets......

id have no issues installing a faucet of some sort in a strategic area in my main floor that could be " hidden" and all id need to do is hook up a hose and turn the faucet on. maybe plumbing a switching mechanism so one way is RODI and other is salt mix.

A bit of background...

i probably will have 4 tanks on main floor.... 3 freshwater and one Saltwater. So a fairly easy system would be great...

A pressurized well system is going to be way more complicated and expensive than a simple pump and brute trash can or other container for mixing/storage of water.

I use a Mag18 in a 55g barrel placed in the basement fish room to pump water up to my DT in the living room. I plumbed it with 3/4" PVC so that there is a faucet behind the DT. I also have a $10 remote to turn the pump on and off.

Turn on pump. Open faucet. Fill sump to desired level. Close faucet. Turn off pump. RO/DI refills the barrel automatically.
