we put in the bid and it was excepted and papers signed and they went off to the lawyers. 2700 sq ft,4 bed rooms,2 bath,13 rooms in total. full basement and enormous attic! house was built in 1904 and was well taken care of(like it was just built yesterday). new roof, siding and windows 3 years ago. the house is amazing and i can wait to set up my new 150 gallon tank which i picked up from my buddy victorcan. HUGE THANKS VIC ! now i need to get some good plans for a strong stand and start building it ! early september will come quick(projected closing date). then i will need to set up my old 72 gallon bow front till i figure out all the plumbing routes to put the sump in the basement along with an ro/di set up and a frag tank! scared and super excited all at the same time ! whew !!!!!!!:dance:

anyone have any good ideas for a 150 gal tall tank stand? tank weighs like 250 lbs,a stand plus rock, sand and with water at 8.6lbs a gallon this thing will weigh close to a ton if not more ! any engineers on here? lol

Congrats on the 'new' home! As important as a sound stand, is sound flooring and support. You may need to put in a support in the basement under the tank. I'm thinking a 100 year old house might sag a little here and there, like our 1920 house does, and my back does!
Cheers and good luck!

Congrats! Is your new place near where you are now? I have a pretty neat setup with my 75 gallon sump, ro/di and 20 gal top-off in basement next to a sink my husband put in for me. Feel free to call me if you want to check it out.

Like the others said, think of getting an engineer to come check things out. He may recommend putting some braces under the floor where the tank is.

Don't forget to take lots of pics and start a build thread when you do start.

the tank will deffinatly sit along an outside wall and i will be installing a few floor jacks onder it in the basement. believe it or not this house is solid as a rock. there isnt even a single creak that comes from the hard wood floors. probably the most solidly built house i have ever been in ! i will deffinatly be having a reefer(not wacky tabaccy) party to show off the new digs for the people i have meet and had dealings with from here. or if you cant make it.....those of you that know me will always be welcome to stop by. thanks for all the well wishes on the house ! toddmh ....i know ur excited cause i will need to stock my bigger tank and you KNOW i will be coming over to go shopping! lmao

Congrats on the new house! Be sure to check your electrical box - probably want to set up a separate circuit to handle just the tank load.

blue ...i will be in lancaster till late august/early sept. then i will be in depew ! lol only 5 minutes or maybe even less from where i am now.

almost forgot ben. if i do decide to go with a basement sump.....i will make you a deal. if you come over and help show me how to run the plumbing(no manuel labor) just help me figure out where and how to run the pipes, and maybe help me write up a list of what i will need............i will paint and airbrush your sons mask free of charge ! deal?:bounce1:

Congratulations! That's a beautiful home. It'll look even better once some of the windows have that unmistakable blue glow of a reef tank.
