Wes's cube build

what is the sps on the front left side of the tank? looks like a blue / green acro of some kind, rather large piece?

Wow, thanks for all the comments. I am a fan of cardinals :) I like how they shoal together. I'm still looking for ideas on a canopy lift. I'm leaning towards using actuators but they are a bit pricy. Brett, If you are talking about the large piece on the top left it is the ORA Hawkins Echinata. I am excited to see how the tank evolves and grows in as it matures. I just hope I can continue to keep everything happy and healthy.

Hey Wes, I noticed that you're also in Elk Grove. Let me know if you decide to tackle the canopy lift using actuators or something else. I've looked at the DIY projects that people have done and it's beyond my comprehension haha. So if you do take on that project, I would love to see how you do it first hand. I want to do the same with my light fixture.

No problem. I'm sure I'm going to run into complications but hopefully I'll be able to figure it out. I'm planning to work on it some time this month. I'll let you know when I get started.

Dang, that made for a stellar video :o Now you just need to work on your deep raspy movie preview voice :lol2:

Thanks! Unfortunately I can't give you a review of the mocean since they are still in the box. I am planning to install them later this month. I've seen them in action on the Atlantis display tank and I was impressed with what I saw. Once I get them installed I'll put up a video of them in action. It won't be for awhile tho.

Thanks everyone. The fish are the red spotted cardinal fish - Apogon parvulus. You can find them in lots of 5 from liveaquaria divers den section. One warning tho, They are extremely weak fish. One nip from any fish will usually stun them and cause them to die. I started with 20 and am now down to 5. I doubt I will buy anymore of these fish unless I start another nano tank dedicated to only these fish.

I think my flamehawk is to blame, but I like him to much to get rid of him. A much more hardy cardinal is the Copper Lined Cardinalfish (Apogon margaritophorus), although not as colorful the male has held fry in his mouth multiple times for me.
