Wet pets plus in Canton

has anyone been in there lately? i guess the new owner isnt doing too well.

quote from a thread on SWF~

Well heres a rather weird update. I went into wet pets today and the new owner had rearranged most of the dry goods. The weird part is that on the left hand wall once you walk in the front door, has all kinds of miscellaneous items on it. I went over to get a closer look because I couldn't believe my eyes. A list of items I can remember of the top of my head are:

Nail Clippers (Human Not Animal)
Sponges (Dish Sponges not Invert Sponges)
Battery Powered Radios
Latex Gloves
Cloth Work Gloves
These weird glove type things that go one beer bottles
Duffle Bags
Chap Stick

And more random "junk"

I am so confused.

I asked the Old owner Jon if he (the new owner) was still going to keep the store a pet store and he said the new owner was trying to find ways to make extra money.

Im not quite sure how this will turn out. I can only hope for the best.

well hopefully wet pets will be bringing expanding their SW section soon...finally decided after a year to get back in the hobby, they were close and my dad knows jon pretty well...the hammer and frogspawn in his display tank came from my dad's mother colonies

also i noticed petco was brought up...petco closed like 7 or 7 NE Oh stores because their sales are horrible in NE Oh so that store was never going to move

sorry to jack the thread also but how is tropical aquarium doing in brunswick?

Tropical Aquarium is awesome! Hector really knows his stuff. fish seam to be avg price however corals in many cases are more than fair priced. I purchased a single head hammer from aquatic tech for $49.95 and Tropical Aquarium had a 3 Head for $44.95 when I stopped in 3 days later.

I picked up a Tomini Tang at Wet Pets Plus in Canon today. They do have a bunch of random stuff in there now though.

They seemed nicely stocked. Here's some of the stuff I remember, in case anyone is interested:

4" Copperband Butterfly
3" Juevenile Imperator Angel
3" Blonde Naso Tang (not in the best shape though)
3" Lavender Tang
1" Blue Hippo Tang

Small Scopas Tang
Two Yellow Eye Kole Tangs (one small 1", one about 3")
A couple of nice Dwarf Angelfish
A few Racoon Butterflys
A few nice size Male Mandarin Dragonets
A Flame Hawkfish

and a bunch of other stuff I can't really remember.

How are the prices? The last time that I went there was under the old owner, and the prices was almost 15-25% more than what other stores were asking for. Hopefully the new owner makes his prices more competitive with the other local stores.

They were pretty good IMO. About what you would pay for the fish once you add the shipping online. I got the Tomini for $50.00

I believe most of the other tangs were between $40-$70

Blonde Naso was $69.99 I think.

how is the coral selection looking?

Coral selection and prices were terrible as usual when I was there on Saturday. Fish were looking nice for the most part.

corals ?// what corals? they always have been pretty bad and look terrible right now. dont even go there for any corals unless you have free gas money to spare

i still wanna check out the salty critter sometime, but its pretty far away. the only times im in the cleveland meeting is a c-sea meeting.
