Wet side magnet de-laminating?

Hey guys,

What's going on with the magnet coating peeling off under normal use? About 1/3 of the surface of the magnet is exposed on one of my Votecs - also, weird rust is covering the surface. Is this toxic to my tank? I've owned this particular pump for about 6-7 months.

Sent one email to EcoTech customer service with no reply. Any one else having this problem?

When did you send the customer service query? You have to realize it is a long 3 day weekend, so you're not going to get an instant reply.

6-7 months, they'll simply replace your magnet, in fact you'll most likely get one of those fancy new coated magnets. Whether or not they'll send you new magnets or make you send the wetsides is up in there air, they asked I send mine in, while another guy posted here they simply sent him the magnets.

Your magnets are under warranty and will be replaced, just contact us at service@ecotechmarine.com. If you have already done so, I apologize for the delay, but please wait a bit longer because as Mike said, it has been a 3-day weekend plus some of us have been away in Germany for a large trade show.
