what a disaster

For the record, all I did was ask Chris for a frag. It is you delinquents that are solely responsible for the subsequent thread-jacking. ;)

So back to the topic here, First few SPS were added today.
Plan for the Tank- SPS dominated (mostly Acros, few montis), Looking for a cool Maxima and squamosa, Palys/Zoas and Acans on the sand bed.
I know Squamosas get LARGE, and will outgrow my 40br. I am plannning on upgrading to a larger tank when I finish school. So it will have about a year to grow in the 40br.

Best forum photo EVER.

Really? Cool. I think I may be at my limit now-- maybe. Plus I am waiting for some of my acans to color up. My greens want to be white and grey.

well you've got first shot if you want em. one of the frags is really neat...its bright orange on one half of the frag, bright green on the other half of the frag. i don't know what it is, but they're neat lookin. i think randy called it an orange crush at one point, but i've not seen an orange crush that looks like this one (not that i've seen many!). its mainly an orange acan that has green that runs over whole areas of the colony if that makes sense.

Thank you to everyone for our help. So the rebuild has started and is mostly finished at this point, especially after the swap :) Since the crash I added an Aquamedic dual dosing pump, remade Randy's 3 part plus Mg and did the proper calculations, added a media reactor (running carbon and phosphaban), and added livestock. So here are a few progression pictures.

These were taken about a week or 2 before the crash.

A shot for Mel- Randall's Gob hiding in the cave. The pistol Shrimp is further in there. I scared him and they both swam in quickly.

Today's FTS shot is coming up in a little while.

I also added a Randall's goby(named Puppy), Tiger pistol shrimp (named Cuddles), McCoster's Flasher wrasse, Whipfin wrasse, a 5th stage to my RO/DI (and changed all the filters, membranes and resin). I din't name the fish. All I want now is a few more chalices (no time soon) and a maxima (soon hopefully). The parameters have been consistent. I take horrible pictures, but i hope the point gets across anyway.

A sweet chalice, and a hideous hawaiin Ding Dang paly (looks more like my Mahals than I thought they would).

I will eventually figure out which ones are which- hopefully. I have my master list, but some I cannot tell apart right now.

Thank you once again to everyone.

So glad to see you so far on the road to recovery, looks like you've reach step 10 ! Have you properly color coordinated the placement of the new stuff to match your room decor, I'll be monitering!!

I tried my best to match my coral to the room decor, but the walls are creme, black and white photos and white blinds-- I had to spice it up a little :) Clam on thursday, and you better not think about doing anything funny Randy.

This hijacked thread is way too good to let die. So, I'll contribute my latest disaster of the day to make Paul feel a bit better. I just sucked up my favorite Guppy, Jackie Gleason, in the substrate sucker thingy. Couldn't figure out why the water stopped flowing from it for a minute or so, then found him decapatated in the tube.

That stupid Tiger shrimp is a pain in the...
Every night he comes out and moves things. I just expect things to be moved in the morning. Today, he took one frag and used it for the top of his door/roof to his cave and he used a frag disk as the door. Grant it, they both had zoas and palys on them, but he moves things. He also put m orange crush on top of an acan I moved because he kept covering it with gravel. Guess who won that Crush vs Acan battle. I don't think he likes it.

I raised Guppy's when I was in middle school. I always found it very hard to do the culling that was necessary to keep the color strains going. So i ended up selling them as feeder guppies. Always hated sacrificing them.
I understand your loss.
