So I am about to order some so fish from Live Aquaria and I was thinking of getting some anthias. Really wanted a trio of lyretails but I am thinking that is going to cause troubles for me down the road. So looking for other ideas. Tank is a 65g dsa (3ft) and looking for some good color and activity. Another bridge that I have to cross is that my QT is only a 10g is this an issue for the fish to be in for a short period of time? So in short I am looking to order 3 anthias and an ember blenny possibly.

I would look local & suggest paying a little more. Anthias are hard to quarantine & a 10 gal is to small. Good ones to pick is a male square box & some females, Bartletts are easy to.

I keep bartlett's and lyretail which to me have been quite hardy in terms of anthias. I've not had great luck myself with squareback. They really need a more continuous feeding than the others.

They also do really well together. Mine all spend time intermixed with each other.

I always call them squareback but I think squarespot is the actual common name. Either way it's Pseudoanthias pleurotaenia.

By the way Club Reef had three large females in at a great price. They were large and healthy. They change sex so often one of the females will become the male.

I really like my Fathead Sunburst Anthias. Got from DD, was eating live brine and ROE immidiately, had in a 10gal QT for 4 weeks. It is very active and colorful occasionally hangs out under overhangs. He is eating rods frozen as well. Does well with only being fed twice a day.

I have a dispar anthias. I had no issues quarantining in a 14g biocube and it has proved to be very hard. it survived when 3 green chromis didn't.

Nice bright colorful fish. I need to get a couple more though.
