What are Bali black Picasssos?

First of all no cussing allowed. ;)

I used garlic boost when my fish wouldn't eat for almost a week. Tried about everything.

Word of advice, remember you get what you pay for real p1 are expensive a1 are way cheaper they look like somewhat like pro aquatics or sA's with out helmets.good luck on your decision.

Lol!!! You get what you pay for. But you know what I'm in jersey I'll check the else's store one of these days and I'll check what are the exactly .they could be from "bali aquarich" but what are they? That is the question. Are they , what you were asking for(p1-p2) those are the black bali Picasso the others are nice but not like p1 or the p2's they have a1 , a2, a3 those are like the one ones we get here .Then you have a bali snowflake that looks like Picasso to the naked eye a regular hobbies that just wants a nice Picasso .but to a clown fish collector like myself or to a breeder that know his stuff the s1 -s2-s3 is like a mixture of Picasso with Davinci patterns a very interesting specimen .but nothing rocks like the p1 p2

I've never been a fan of designer clowns, and always considered myself a "realist" meaning that I like clowns that look natural. For me, Onyx clowns were my favorite. Until I saw Bali Aquarich P1s. For most people, there should be a clear, obvious difference between a P1 and all others -- the clean lines and solid black make for a beautiful fish. However, in order to qualify as a P1, I feel that there shouldn't be any muddiness -- no blurring/gradation between black and orange. I would consider those P2s. Regardless, I know it made me change my stance on designer clowns.

Question though... I know these are shipped at a later age. For those who adopted early and purchased say, P2s -- has there been any color shift towards a P1? Meaning, did the black fill in later than expected? Just curious as I am interested in purchasing, but not sure if the color remains "locked" thus worth saving or paying extra money.

In my opinion they will gain their full black with some real good diet just like onyx I'm assuming also have to adjust to your tanks .p2 basically is their grading method it would be like a high grade B+swinging to a A grade and a p1 would be their extremely Picasso p3 is like a so so B grade .I also think that a lot of p2's look way better that a p1 but the have patterns and not a lot of solid white p2 show more of all 3 colors and p1 are more of white which some people love a Picasso with a lot of white with hints of black and orange here and there

I research these guys as soon as reef builder did a little article on bali aquarich my jaw drop .I was actually trying to get my last to bring those in and they never heard of such company or clown fish so I did more research I actually have a breeder friend who's been breeding for nearly 8 yrs he lives in Florida since he had his breeding license I ask to try going for his export/import license since he had the real state to house many clown fish but that plan didn't work out .so I contacted unique coral from Los Angeles and bring it to there attention and nothing. I finally found them in the California erea I live in the nj/nyc erea .I'm very happy with my pair both have cheek marks which is not common for a bali p1 to have such marking unlike the domestic one we have here.

I got a pair of these but they arrived sick and died. Apparently a lot of them come to the USA with disease. People told me that mine had brook and these fish are maricultured? And are prone to disease like a wild caught fish. Does anyone have more information on this and how I can avoid this from happening again?

I too have heard the same things. Yes, they are maricultured, which is far different than most breeders here in the US. They use tanks connected to the ocean, so they will have diseases, unlike most captive bred fish here that are largely pest free.

You have two options:
1) purchase again, QT, and hope for the best,
2) get them from a breeder here in the states so you don't have to deal with disease.

I have multiple Bali clowns P1 and P2. And have never had a problem with mine. The seller includes chloroquine phosphate with the shipment for quarantine purposes. Do a search for Kmaintl on YouTube to see what he has available. Good luck!

I researched him already. I guess you were one of the lucky ones who didn't have an issue with your fish coming in with brook and dying. You are lucky. I have talked to a lot of people who's fish died and they couldn't be replaced and he have them store credit instead of a refund.
