what are most electric bills with a bigger tank

I m doing my basement over. I want to get a bigger tank. I have a 55G now with 300W mH. I was thinking of going to t5 lights and a 120-180g. Not shure on the size. What the cost to fun a bigger tank a month. I know its hard to say. Because pumps skimmers chillers all that stuff. Looking for what some of you pay

my 200 with 3X 400 W plus 72" vhos really only adds about $100 -120 a month, if that... no chiller though

My electricity bills haven't fluctuated too much. Between my 190g and downgrade to 112g, they went from $130 a month with the 190g, to about $100 a month with the 112g. I also live on the beach, where i dont use to use anything besides a fan to cool the room, though. So that may make a difference.

I have a 200 G system and several things in the garage related to fish etc. Our whole elec bill is around 175-250 depending on time of yr, cold/hot. We are in GA so might cost more where you live, but that is our WHOLE bill not just for the system, and I have chiller multi pumps, fuge heaters flow pumps etc.
I'd say the diff between the 55 and the 120ish will be around 50 or so dollars... But that is just an estimate...

Totally depends on what you pay for electricity. This can be 3-4cents/kilowatt hour or 25 cents per kilowatt/hour.....so, might be $50/month or $300/month depending on where you live and what your rate is

Study up on your rates, what your pumps, lights, etc all use and use the calculator that Tom put up.

Buy a kill-a-watt, test your equipment, figure out your cost per KW/Hr and you'll know exactly what any device in your house costs/month.

My house is around 3300 sqft, and with me running 1000W of lights over my 180, I hit $181 this both.

With that said... electricty is cheap here.

My 150 has 2 - 400 watt MH's on 7 hours a day, Blackfin 3600 pump, Mag24 pump, Eheim 1262 pump, 2 - 150 watt heaters which dont run much this time of year, small top off pump , OM 4way...the latest ,whole house, electric bill ( house is all electric, no gas ) also inlcuded the entire month the tank has been set up, was $98. You guys on the west coast need to move the east coast where electric is cheap!

When my 450 was running my bill was about $175 more per month. 4x400w halides, 6-160w vho, 3 pumps, plus skimmer with 4 sedra 9000's.
