What are sixline wrasse really like?

Can anyone who has actually had experience of this species (Pseudocheilinus hexataenia) tell me whether it was good or bad please. I've read all the reports and they seem heavily weighted in the negative but i;m putting that down to most people not adding positive experiences.
The ones i know from friends seem to have been fine but i'm still undersided.

It would also be great if you could say when they were added and what they are with.

The only fish i'd be worried about is a mature but very peaceful iridis wrasse.

Thanks

Personally , they are one of my favorite fish and never had issues besides the fact that they are great jumpers. I have lost a couple to carpet surfing so they might be better suited for a covered tank.

Thanks that was quick. The tank doesn't have a lid but i built up the sides to around a foot or so because of the other wrasse, so hopefully that would be enough.

I know you didn't really ask but IMO a hawaiian four line wrasse is much nicer. (pseudocheilinus tetrataenia). Everybody has a sixline. :). Tony

I banished mine to the mantis tank after he picked on my royal gramma and mandarin. I couldn't add any fish smaller than him without him being aggressive. They are really cool fish though. Mine does a dance in the front glass when I walk by.

My 6 line is a beautiful fish but he is kind of a bully to my engineering gobie, even though the gobie is 3 times as long. When ever I feed them the 6 line is like all this food is mine.

My 6line is mostly a great fish. He bullied a royal gramma for a couple of days and I have to keep it away from some corals when I feed , but otherwise a good fish

I have had mine for 7 months and no problems at all. I added a mandrin and also a small tang, smaller than the 6 line and he didn't bother either of them.

It will definately be the last fish and the only two i'm worried about is the peaceful iridis and my springers dottyback. They should be able to take care of themselves but i'm still debating risking it.

I've had two over the years and both were great. The only fish that have actually made me laugh out loud due to their funny figure eight swimming patterns. Never had a problem with them picking on other fish, but lost both due to jumping.

my sixline bullies the gramma and leaves the clowns and shrimp alone...do not notice him messing with the corals though.

I had a 6-line in a FOWLR and it was one of my favorites, besides my yellow tang. Obvi i didn't have any coral, but I heard that some nip.

Tries to pick fights with my purple firefish but he stands his ground and the six line usually backs off. Six line aggression has decreased since adding a pygmy angel who is the dominant fish in the tank now. Feeding frequently has also helped.

Mine harassed a radiant wrasse and a pair of percula clowns. I can't recall the exact stocking order, but I know the clowns were there before I added the sixline. Seniority did not save them from the sixline's aggression.

I had my six line for at least 4 years and he's a terror to his tank mates, even my 4" yellow tang gets harassed by him! I can't add any fish cause he kills them, I haven't been able to catch him.

My six line was one of the first that was introduced. I have added to TP's a small royal gramma and 3 chromis ( all smaller than the wrasse) and he only had a tif with the female clown and she won.. Now he will sometimes pick at the gramma, but the gramma holds his own. Overall, he is a pleasure to have in the tank. Mainly keeps to his business...

Thanks for the info. I've now got one in quarantine so fingers crossed it will go well, if it doesn't i'll have to try and catch it and it can live in the refugium.

thanks again for the input.
