What are sixline wrasse really like?

Thanks for the info. I've now got one in quarantine so fingers crossed it will go well, if it doesn't i'll have to try and catch it and it can live in the refugium.

thanks again for the input.

If you put it in the refugium you will be defeating part of the purpose of a fuge. That sixline will clean up any and every pod he can get. A refugium should be totally predator free.

I hated my sixline wrasse. He killed 2 radiant wrasses, 2 lubbocks wrasses, and a firefish. This was in a 6'x2'x2' 180 gallon reef.

Sixlines are horribly aggressive. They're notorious for making other fish disappear. Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying or doesnt have experience with them.

What's most important with the six line isn't whether they are bullies or not, it's with their tank mates. You can't put timid wimpy fish with them. They do fine if tank mates are chosen properly.

Firefish, gobies, smaller fairy/flasher wrasses & assesors are not going to work with them for the most part. They are direct competition for pods & not likely to fight back.

Psuedochromis, dwarf angels & clowns should be able to hold their own, especially if they are larger.

I kept a six line with a dutoiti psuedo, flame angel, clown, & flame hawkfish with no problem in a 75g.

Yeah no sorry i meant until it find a new home, mine is divided into several parts so it wouldn't be too much of a problem. it would only be a day or two tops anyway.

Seems a bit over the top bud. The replies are from people with experience and although there is a difference of opinion as you would expect, they seem more positive than negative.
Are you talking from experience?

mine always carpet surfed behind the tank

great tank mates every time but i did have fish that could hold there own, 6 line was always the smallest fish.

my current one so far is great and leaves everyone alone

My sixline wrasse is a bit strange. Follows around one of my large hermits all day and at night time it sleeps in the sand. Yes, I'm positive its a Sixline Wrasse.
