I don't know which one to get. Please say why you chose that one. Oops, messed up the Snowflake or the Picasso or both are Semi, not full.

I would get one really nice grade A Picasso(not just the plain Jane grade A), and pair it with a melanistic SI wild caught perc. The pair would cost you about +/- $170. They should produce some really nice little ones, and you'd be adding to the genetic pool of Picassos.

That's a good idea EC. But would the offspring be Semi Picasso or what?

You would have a mix of offspring. Two grade A Picassos don't even produce all grade A offspring. The original pair that all Picasso clowns descend from was a female onyx and a wild caught male with Picasso type markings. I believe he was a SI perc. You would probably have some regular looking perc's, onyx, misbars, and some with Picasso looking traits. You can't be sure what the little ones will look like until you start having little ones.

How much would a pair of Grade A Picasso clowns cost me?

Usually in the ballpark of $300. You may be able to get the owner of your LFS to order you a pair for less. I think they wholesale for somewhere around $75 a piece, so your LFS will have about $150 in the pair.

I'd stay away from anything wild...there is no reason to buy wild clownfish with the current aquaculturing practices of these fish. 1) they are much hardier 2)no parasites.

I'd push for the semi-snowflakes. If you could get real snowflakes even better...If I didnt get my onyx, I'd get the semi-snowflakes. Those markings are killer.
