I need your ideas for next meeting? If I can do them, I will. If not I will try to find someone who can.

Thanks,

Phillip

Phil, it's great you're in charge of this. I bet your students love you and learn a lot from you. Will have to think about what I would like to see. I too would like to write my tanks off on my taxes but I don't want to blow anything up LOL! I don't have the spouse problem because he's right there with me in the hobby. Lucky for me I know :)

I don't know if this has been done or not but I could do a demo on how to drill a tank. Im sure I have an old ten gallon or somthing I could drill.

If anyone is interisted I can show you how to wire an Over Driven Normal Output (ODNO) light setup. Its nice for the ones on a budget or if you have most of the stuff already laying around.

With Summer around the corner, it would be really nice and benificial to those of us that simply do not have the extra money, for someone to do a demo on a diy chiller.

I have built one before, it did not work very well. Fans are much better IMO. However, I have been following a thread on how to make a chiller using a dehumidifier. This seems like a much better way to go than using a small fridge.

I like the idea of drilling a tank and overdriving a bulb as demos. I think those would be great. I have someone else that wants to do demos on floatswitches, etc.. I would like to see one more demo and I will say demos are set for next meeting unless someone has something spectacular they want to do.

When I first started coming to the meetings I heard talk about how to modify pump impellers to get more hp from them. Anybody?

Joyski that was the Maxijet mod, with the release of the Koralias there is little reason to do these now IMO. I have heard of mods being done on Koralias though.

Phil,

I am interested in learning more about chemistry for beginners. Basic tests you need either to buy or have your LFS do and track. As we start adding more corals, what do we need to start watching for and how often to check these parameters? Also, any tips on dosing. When you dose for this, what else do I need to check.

I may be asking for things that are way to newbie for others but I also know that with each demo done on Sunday, I learned several things to take home and apply.

Thanks to all who make this club great and for welcoming new people. This is a great hobby!

Im sure this has already been done, but now that I am in need of it, I would like to see a demo done on a very simple top off. I have a small 10 gal tank beside my sump for top off water, but I have to manually plug in the maxi jet about every evening to put in the top off water. The only problem with this is when I am not home for like an overnite trip, such as now, I am out of town and had to have my neighbor stop in to add top off water to my tank. I can easily have a auto feeder, but need the top off water to be done automatically as well. Any suggestions for a very simple one?
