So I finished transferring my anemones over to my new bta flat I built a couple weeks ago.
20 minutes later I tore the Meniscus in my left knee clean in half after putting some temporary covers on the drains. Anyways I never did get around to finishing the return line because I have to get behind the tank to do so and I can't walk so that isn't going to happen.
Last night about 230am the power went out. No problem, vortechs are all on battery backup and the system drains just fine. So I said to myself "its fine don't get up". So about 10 minutes later I am thinking about it... I've never turned the system off since adding the bta tank and the return HOSES! CRAP, they aren't at the surface, it was supposed to be temporary and in the whole ordeal with my knee I forgot to at least adjust them.
So here I am at 2:45 am, standing in water on crutches, no power, had surgery on friday, and the bta tank is half empty. I ignored the water on the floor, went to the garage, looked at the generator and realized there was no physical way to get it outside and started. I grab a power inverter, clamped it onto the battery of my jeep, and start her up. The power truck drives by at this time so I know its coming on soon, no worries, just gotta get water back into the tank.
Slowly but surely (the inverter wouldn't run the pump properly) it pumped water back into the tank. Once full I shut down and went to sit on the couch and ice my knee. At 4am the power came back on. Everything was fine. I never cleaned up the water, its a concrete floor. I just put a fan on it...
So what did I do today? What I had to.
