Did a water change thee other day, scrap the algae off the front and side glass,,, boy what a difference, tank look good...how often u guys do a water change. ?

it kinda depends . but it averages out at 40 gallons every two weeks. Sometimes more or less depending on Nutrient levels when i test .If I Scrape the glass down and clean everything up in the tank i will Do a 40 gallon water change but this does not happen but a few times a year. I think smaller water changes more often is better...

Every hour. But some do it a little less infrequent.

Just hooked up an external junction box to control my GFO reactor pump and skimmer... Makes cleaning a snap, no more unplugging just hit the switch.

Also just ordered an AquaCool cooling fan, i'm going to give it a try.

I do mine every hour, 5 gallons a day.

Yesterday...

Cleaned panel with magnet, need to scrape today.
Changed GFO.
Needed to take some algae off the Chaeto.
Vacuumed up dead hair algae.
Moved newly cleaned powerheads to new positions in the tank.
Emptied collection cup.

Ugh...

Clean my filters and media on my 150gl african cichlid tank,, ha!! Man Im thinking about changing the 150gl to a fish only live rock saltwater tank...what you guys think ? If I do it , it will be a long journey...

Well I was busy this weekend...

Bought a Reef Octopus Regal 300SSS to replace the DCS300 I dropped. Going to try to fix the DCS300 and use it on our frag tank.

Bought two Jebao DC4000s for our frag tank.
Bought two Jebao RW-15s for our frag tank.
Bought a 48-60" Orbit Marine LED to test on the frag tank.
Bought 80lbs of Seaflor Special Grade Sand for the frag tank.
