What do I need to replace on my RODI?

Can't believe I have to ask this after a year and a half but here goes. Been making water with the same filters for a year and a half. I always got a zero reading after the DI stage as I don't measure in between. Water was so good in town (26 ppm going in) that it lasted this long. Just moved to a house with a well and I'm getting 120 ppm in and 1-2 going out.

It's been over a year and a half. Should I changed everything? If not what specifically should I change. I use a booster here and my psi is 80 so I think it's just a matter of replacing filters.

Thanks in advance.

Steve

More than likely every filter except the RO membrane and then get new DI resin too.. The RO membrane may last 3-5 years before needing replacement... But everything else needs to be changed..

I would remove and clean your sediment filter and flush out the RO membrane.

Try to get a measure of what is coming out of the RO. The sediment might need to be replaced as well as RO.

I would say the DI needs to be replaced as it should remove everything. But check the other filters.

I would start with the sediment and DI as they are cheap and see what you have afterwards.

You need to search on RC about well water and RO/DI or ask BRS about the set-up. Something about CO2 and well water will cause depletion of the resin faster than usual, like 10X faster. It requires a special valve.

"Some" well water (and city water) may be higher in CO2 which will deplete the DI resin faster..

Usually you setup a degassing tower or holding system to allow the CO2 to dissipate then pump it through the RO/DI system..

Ok thanks for the tip and can you explain the degassing tower to me? I will say that my DI chamber was about 1/5 orange before I moved and now almost completely orange after a month in the new house. This gets to be more of a pia everyday (already dropped some big dough on the booster pump)! Can I buy one of these towers online? Is setup painful?

Thanks - Steve

I degass my RO water. I was replacing DI resin about every 100 gallons, now every 1500 gallons.

My line from the RO membrane goes into a 55 gallon Brute barrel and then I run an air stone for at least 24 hour (actually I run it continuously, but don't use any new water for at least 24 hrs). I then pump it from that storage through the DI and into either my ATO or AWC 32 Gallon Brutes.

So that going be my issue. I went through my DI reading in about 80 gallons
