What do ou guys use to glue frags?

hey guys, thouht id ask here. im about to order an sps frag pack from yourreef.com and i know their plugs have a point at the bottom, now some will fit in the rocks, but should i use some kind of glue to hold them down. most lps ive owned are med size so he already come attached to a rock, so this will be the first time dealing with frags. actually first time dealing with sps . thank you

I use the D&D Aquarium Epoxy (not the construction version) to stick my frags on the rocks. I used to use regular epoxy you can buy at home depot/lowes but it requires a fair amount of work/couple of try/patience.

+1 for epoxy and then sandwich a drop of crazy gel on both ends. Crazy glue gel sets up almost immediately when it touches saltwater in the tank, and allows the epoxy to cure.

I recently got some of the ecotech superglue and while it is expensive I must say that it is fantastic! The stuff is very very thick and I have not had one frag come loose with it

I have several fish that would eat a drop of superglue in a split second if it floated off and that would be a certain death so how do you prevent that when gluing with superglue under water?

Don't glue with superglue underwater. Take the piece out, apply the glue, and then place it into the tank. I also use DD epoxy and a crazy glue sandwich - I also use a glue accelerator (bought mine from Vividaquariums.com) which makes the crazy glue dry in ~ 2 seconds. Vividaquariums has an instructional video instructing frag gluing which is worth watching. Here:

+1 for Ecotech superglue. But don't glue them in the water.

superglue gel. apply the gel on the frag or frag plug outside of water, rub the glue against the rock underwater, once it start to stick let it go. never need more than 15 secs for small frag, work for bigger piece too, just need more superglue gel and once it start to stick hold the piece for 60 sec. let the glue dry a bit, then you are done.

Superglue Gel...pure CA glue works perfect. The EcoTech glue is awesome. Nice on the pickup from YourReef. I get to stop by all the time. 20 minutes away

Superglue gel is great And ecotech glue is rad but a bit pricey. I say it's worth it. ATM I'm using TLF SUPER GLUE

Superglue gel by it self, works just fine for frags. Clean the spot in your tank where you want to place it with a toothbrush, dry just the end of the frag with a paper towel really quick, big glob of superglue on the bottom of the frag, place it were you want it, smear it around until the blister of glue spreads onto the surface, use a toothpick or something similar to spread out and smear in any glue that sqeezes out around the frag. Done.
The superglue immediatly forms a blister the moment you place it under water. I've never had any float off or any fish eat it off the bottom of the frag as I'm placing it underwater.

The superglue, putty, superglue sandwich works really well. Just a little overkill for a small frag. I only use this method to mount larger colonies.

I'm surprised no one has said IC-GEL yet. It is a cyanoacrylate gel (as is super glue gel). Been using it for years, comes in a larger 20 gram tube and usually doesn't clog. Comes with an extra applicator tip just in case. Must not be as popular elsewhere, a lot of the LFS in northern California carry it.

I forgot all about that stuff. Been using my Ecotech glue since it came out. Just ran out during the last swap fragging. I'm heading to Johns to pick up a few tubes. IC-Gel does works the best and cures super fast.

I use the super glue gel from the dollar store or JB Water Weld from Home Depot works great for larger colonies.

I use JB water weld and superglue gel from Home Depot and never had an issue. Was actually told by a "big" reef glue manufacturer that it was better to use the cheap stuff than their stuff!
