is this fish a good reef fish does it pick at inverts, i cant really find much info on it and was wondering if someone can help me out
I have been considering one of these, but two things have held me back. One, although I have a big tank, my resident Splendid Dottyback is a grump and I'd worry about the Swales. Two, and related, I do have a pretty aggressive with the aforementioned Dottyback, a trio of Bartletts and a bunch of Tangs. Not ideal for a reclusive fish.
The dottyback is likely to be a problem but the tangs or anthias will never pay it any attention.
I have tried to trap the Dottyback, but with little success so far as it tends to hang under the rocks.
They are certainly the "poor person's" Candy Liopropma sp. I've passed on a couple beautiful ones for nice prices, and now wish I hadn't. I lost one in an outage while away years ago. They are a twilight fish, active during the actinic cycle, which I have on a lot.
Has anyone paired Liopropoma sp. or know their sexual cycle?
The dottyback is likely to be a problem.
use a fish hook for the dotty. I know alot of people catch damsels and sixlines and other dottys that way. Get a small hook and line and file off the barb.
the candy and swales would get along correct in 1 tank?
There is a candy coming on DD tonight according to email... FYI
