What do you guys suggest for a rookie?

Going to pick up some softies tomorrow. Probably going to grab a few of them. I have 130w's of PC's in my 20 long. This is the availability. As Ive stated before, I would like some movement with color also. Should I grab a bunch of one or few different pieces?

first of all green slimmers not a softy also..hammer frogspawn,candy cane.hydnophora..they arent softies either.....they need stronger light...the rest should be ok tho............

OK...I didn't mean to add the slimer...oops. frogspawn and the others mentioned need more light than 2x65w PC's in a 20 long?

not if your only going to have softies..that light should be ok....

Disagree, I have a frag tank similar to yours it's a bit smaller. I'm running two 65 watt pc and have sorties, lps, and Sps in the tank, growing. It can be done, water quality is everything, would not recommend doing this for a beginner thought. Stick to the sorties at this point with that light.

all the lps should be fine under that light. don't forget the tank is only what 12 inches tall, that much light would be fine. your sps like the slimer and hydro might need stronger lighting but again it shouldn't matter with the depth you place it at. Theres been many people on the site that have grown lps under PC's just fine.

do you plan on running a sump with it? or just water changes

agree that most softies and many LPS would do okay with the PC's in the shallow tank....I just upgraded to T5's and it did make a big difference to my corals (mostly softies but a couple of LPS)

IMO.......stay away from the xenia unless you want to prune it back weekly.

I would also stay away from the kenya trees they got nuts in a tank, and are almost impossible to get out.

...agree with the comments/concerns over xenia and kenya trees....they can become a nusiance
