what do you keep your alk at?

I was keeping mine at 7 ish. However, a few months ago, my lfs said I should keep it around 9 since mine is not ULNS. So I did slowly move it up to 9. I see better growth since then. And I would like to keep it that way.

I try to keep mine at 8-9 but lately growth has taken off and kalk is not keeping up with alk needs while ca is fine. Lately it has been 6-7, I did start dosing vinegar though.

I have trouble keeping mine above 8, but I dose heavily to keep it between 9-10dkh, Calcium Stays at 460, Magnesium is usually 1300, or just below it.I dose Seachem Reef Complete, Reef Builder, and Seachem Magnesium I used to use Brightwell Magnesion, but it is anhydrous and gets HOT when you mix it, so I just went to Seachem.

9 and 420 calcium. I had pail sps and lps colors and started feeding more. The colors have come back.

I'm running between 9-9.5 with a hanna tester. I used to keep it at around 8 or so, but this the extra DKH is closer in line with the salt I use so water changes have less of a swing.

Elos test kits will typically test lower then hanna/salifert by about 2dkh. In my experience.

I should add I keep the alkalinity with the salt that I buy. Since reef crystals are around 11 to 12 dkh I keep my tank the same so I do not have to boost my alk if it was lower.

Mine stays up between 10-11...Its been constant there for awhile, Ca 430, Mg1320

any benifit to dropping to the 8-9-10 range????

Trying to keep mine at 9. Keep upping the time on my dosing pumps but just wants to fall below 8... I'll get there eventually!
