What do you make of this clown?

This is a link to a local (Okinawan) online shop that only deals in wild stock.

They are not marketing this as any variety, but as a natural hybrid. The blurb says it looks like an Ocellaris, but has the body shape of a Clarkii (both live in Okinawa and overlap in distribution).

Would be interested in expert opinion.

Judging from the pic, that's just a regular ocellaris. It would be nice to have a full side shot though.

It is certainly diff to the ocellaris and if they are saying it has a clarkii shaped body, I imagine it does, this place has a very good rep and has been trading for quite a while.

I agree more pics would be helpful. I will see if they can post some. But in the meantime any more opinions gratefully received. I think it looks like what they say. You don't make a claim like that over here unless you can back it up! Competition is very strong.

After blowing up the pic, it does seem a little odd. The face is shorter like clarkii, and it has the straight center stripe like clarkii. I guess it could be a hybrid. They do share the same anemone. (of course) It could just be a strange mutation of an ocellaris. I guess the only way to be sure would be with an expensive DNA test. If it is a hybrid, it may be a mule. I guess the real question is, is it worth the price they're asking?

Now that shot does make you go hummmm. It even has an anal fin more like clarkii. It sure looks like a hybrid.
