What do you think about using saltwaterized mollies to eat algae in a small frag tank

So I just set up a small 20G long frag tank and I'd like to put something in there to help keep the algae down. But the fact that it's only 20 gallons and 30 inches long means no tangs or other "˜standard' algae eating fish.

I've heard that converted mollies tend to eat a lot of algae, so I'm thinking that they might be a good option.

What do you think? Any other small algae eating fish I should consider instead?

I've acclimated mollies before. It takes a while but they did fine even though they're somewhat boring fish IMO. They did eat a lot of algae.

They would work great. They look a bit odd in a reef but will do the job. I don't acclimate; just add them in.

They did look odd. I mean, they look kinda odd anyway but they looked even more odd in my reef tank. They seemed to swim a little funky in SW too.

Definitely don't do a lawnmower IMO, they can get pretty big (and territorial)

Mollies should do quite well in there. I would acclimate if I were you.

Well, I went to petco and got a small group of dalmatian mollies. I was actually looking for a couple more, but they didn't have a lot. The fish guy there was a bit surprised that I wanted more and did the math quickly and said "œYou know, you already have $20 worth of fish there!" I resisted the urge to let him know that that was probably the least I've ever spent at a fish store.
