What do you use to clean up after water to prevent mold but not kill you tank

A lot of people beside me have to be wondering with the recent rains and flooding. What do you use to clean up after water to prevent mold but not kill your tank when it is in that room? I have heard using Lysol, Pinesol, bleach and so on can kill your tank just from the fumes. What is safe and effective??

I would think you could use whatever you wanted. Just turn off your skimmer until the fumes have dissipated and cover your tank with sheet plastic if you are using some sort of spray can cleaner. And run a lot of carbon if you're that worried about it

I'd use vinegar. I have a - lets say - free spirited friend always looking to find green ways to clean. She cleans her entire place with vinegar and it does a pretty good job.

A quick google search shows people using it to clean up after and prevent mold.

I've always considered vinegar a reef safe alternative to bleach. We use it to clean powerheads and equipment, and some dose vinegar directly to their tank as a form of carbon dosing alternative to vodka or biopellets.

IMO vinegar would be the way to go here.

we used a lot of bleach to clean the basement for my friend and his tank was fine running the skimmer the entire time.

+1 on this.. and just in case you get some vinegar into your tank, you're just dosing some carbon.. No harm there.
