What do you want to see on the CTARS website?

The CTARS club website started out mostly to present meeting info. For a period of time we had features like Member Tanks, TOTM, and POTM contests. Interest waned, and it was hard to get even photos and descriptions of anyone's tanks, and participation in the contests decreased. We have signups for club events like the annual BBQ and conference, and do elections on the website.

I would like to try and revive the Member's Tanks section, because I enjoy looking at other club member's setups, and like the opportunities to meet people and take photos of their setups (you can also just take your own photos if you would prefer no visit but would still like your tank on the website). I will be posting another thread after the holidays to get this revived.

What other things would club members like to see on the website? I like programming and I donate all my time, but I am not the idea-guy :rollface: . Let me know what ideas you have.
 
I would like to see the site used more in general... Where members can sell their items and livestock there to those only in the club (no offense to anyone else, jus seems right)... Member tanks section would be sweet... If the forum site was used more, a lot more thing like politics and business would be kept more "in house"... An update calendar on everything ctars would be helpful... Contact info of some members if thy preferred... A regularly updated and available list of the clubs finances, in and out...

Also I think we should promote ctars here on RC, at meetings, at frag swaps, etc... But we should leave the website entirely to members onlys...

I really would like to emphasize this...
 
I like where Pallobi is going with this. It would be great to have a place for members only and keeping things updated is also a plus. I would really like to bring back totm because I would give a bunch of us here that don't stand a chance for totm on the big board (like me, lol) a chance to show off a bit and to help others get an idea of how we all do things our own way. And Greg I like the members tank section also. That would be pretty cool too.
 
From having constructed some php nuke based websites in the past a real nice feature is something that allows users to host their own images on the site. This benefits both the user for ease of use and the website as well because images are loaded instantly as the are on the same server

- integration w/social networking (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)

Hahahahaha you so funny .not one we can self moderate and I also think we need a paid sponser's page I might be able to help out with a couple to get us started
 
All these suggestions are what crossed my mind when I read the OP. Also just generally keeping it more up to date might help with getting people to use it. It still says the next meeting is the on that was at the Mohican Sun quite a while ago.

I really like the barter/trade/selling comment and that would bring a lot of traffic. People like saving money.
 
The ctars site sucks there isn't **** on the page worth looking at . For the most part there isn't anything someone who isnt a member / is a member can get from the ctars web page . Personally I think joining is a waste of 20 dollars . Sure I like the cause but lets not kid our selfs . There is not much of a benifit to anyone who signs up as a member . Oh wait maybe they can vote for the ctars bod but what's the point when there is only 1 person running for president and 1 person running for vice president . That's hardly an election. It really just looks like nobody wants the positions anymore .im not saying that I have the time or would want to take on the responsibilities of these positions . I'm just saying if more people run it would make a real differance . An not for nothing big thanks to eric for stepping up and making CMAC happen this year not that he did it alone but last year was a joke !! . Well that's my 2 cents .

I've been one to criticize the club in the past, and after reading my own posts over again and seeing ones like yours, I realize how truly foolish I was, and how these posts are useless and unproductive, and how it's nothing more than waste of energy of energy jus reading it...

wow, i thought i wuz critical.... your 2 cents needs to go back to the bank. There is not much truth in your statement, very little in fact. And the crap you posted makes people not want to help, so thanks for that.
