my GBTA does this every so often, but always comes back to normal.

Mine looks like that when they are expelling waste, as long as it's not like that for more than a day it's fine and normal.
However, one of mine also did that almost daily when it was digesting itself because I wasn't spot feeding. Now that I realize that particular nem wasn't being fed by the clown or catching food in the water colum, I spot feed 2-3 times a month and it's been doing fine since.

i would say about once every two weeks, it only seems to last about a day. I feed them once a week and they seem to be good with it.

Your nem looks like it's purging which is not a good thing and is usually derived from stress of some sort. Have you made any recent changes to your system? Are you keeping your alk stable as well as your temperature?

but it looks good the other 95% of the time, and he eats

Stressed/sick anemone will still eat. If your Anemone does this for one day every week, its a good sign that he is sick. I have 3 Anemones in my tank and none of them "open" their mouth like that, not even for a minute. When they poop their mouth is still shut.

I've had a perfectly healthy nem that did what your nem is doing, it eventually shriveled up and died. It does look like your nem is still hanging tough though, because mine lost colors too.

Also, if you want the nem to recover, I'd stop feeding it (a week or two). It could be reacting like that to the food you feed it. If it recovers, feed it something else.
