What Does This Mean?!?!?!?!

So I went to do my normal feeding this afternoon, and afterwards I sometimes put my *cleaned* finger in the water and see if my pair of Picasso Perc. clowns find anything to nibble on. Today however, only the female came up to me, didn't nibble, but used her tail to thrust water at me (did it until I removed my finger). What does it mean? My false percs have NEVER done this to me....

Wow......

Now some REAL advice please!!!!!!!!;)

Seriously though, my cleaner shrimp loves to 'clean' my hand, and both pairs (normally) love to nibble on my fingers....

they may be doin the hanky panky and gettin a little territorial...my cichlids got that way right after an egg lay....look for eggs....

It was the female though..............but I'll check......

Yes, the male does the close-in egg tending, while the female has the further out protection responsibilities.

My females are often all over the tank even when there are eggs. The male, however, never strays far from the eggs.

it's typical clownfish behavior. They are extremely territorial and protective of their anemone (if you have one). My female maroon starts with the tail swatting then escalates to biting whenever I'm working in the tank. I'm a little worried about when she gets bigger. They are known to draw blood.

Yep. They also get good at choosing their bite points - the web between two fingers seems to be my female GSM's favorite. She draws blood almost everytime I'm in the tank now....

It is not unusual for clowns to turn sideways to predators. Both of my B&W ocellaris turn sideways when any of the eels or triggers get close to home.
