What fish has bitten you

Blue damsel was the first, but they won't ever be in a tank I have again. More recently, my Scribbled Angel(does it a lot aggressively going after food), Emperor Angel, and spiked by my Atlantic Blue tang(must have been creeping on his favorite hiding spot). Ouch!

canary blenny

What was that like? I was trying to convince a coworker the other day that getting bitten by a fangblenny probably wouldn't be all that bad. He was appalled that I'd even kept venomous fish...I was trying to explain to him that it wasn't exactly like keeping a rattlesnake. :p

I've been attacked by clownfish in aquariums--a large female B&W ocellaris, and a female maroon. The maroon actually leaped out of her tank to attack me the first time I saw her. I had to scoop her up and put her back in the tank. Didn't even faze her; she just settled back into her anemone and glared at me. If maroon clowns grew to the size of some groupers, no one would dare go in the water.

I've also been mobbed by beau gregories when I got too close to their coral head while snorkeling.

I've been sampled also by Seargent Majors and Bermuda chub my one (and only so far) trip to Cozumel for a week.

crosshatch trigger, clown trigger (all sizes, biggest 12"), niger trigger, picasso/humu, bluethroat, yellow tang, blue tang, flame wrasse, lineatus, laboutei, blennies, golden puffer, raccoon butterfly, squirrel fish... lol

none broke skin except the clown trigger which hurt like heck... almost took of my finger.

My Flame Hawkfish bites me pretty regularly. It doesn't hurt, but he is tenacious. Sometimes I remove my hand from the water with him still hanging on. I should take a picture of that sometime

What was that like?

It was painful enough. The venom/poison (whatever the correct term is... I'm too lazy to Google it right now) just left a large bump that hurt like a bruise. But the teeth are surprisingly large for such a small fish...quite a bit of blood.
