what fish look best under mostly actinic blue light?

My tank is 90% zoas & palys....so I run mostly blue actinic light to bring out deepwater colors in the zoas/palys.

But most my fish look washed out: yellows, blue, Desjardini tangs

What fish is the best look under deep 420nm blue light? Thoughts?

With narrow light spectrum expect very poor color rendition not only in your fish but in corals and everything else..
The solution is to widen your spectral output of your lighting..

1+, foxfaces looks somewhat interesting. But their natural color i still better.

A wider blue spectrum (say 420, 450, and470) will make fish colored like blue-green chromies shimmer in an interesting way. The higher nm LEDs will also pop your florscent yellow, orange and red's much brighter. I can't imagine any fish looking good under straight violet LEDs.

There are some designer type clowns that are mostly white. They would probably pop.

Likely the deepwater fish, like the deepwater candy basslet would. Though I wouldn't say just 420 nm, a more broader blue spectrum would make everything look better, fish and corals.

I think my Potter's Angel looks awesome under mostly blues.

My Flame Angel really glows when my lights are in their blue sunrise/sunset phase. So does my Quoyi Parrotfish.

I tend to dislike the way any and all fish look under blues. Especially blue LEDs. Fish tend to always look best under 6500k-10000k lighting to my eyes. Fish aren't fluorescent so their real colors shine best under full spectrum

OP here....agreed. My dilemma is I want mostly actinic blues for my zoas/palys but then the fish look washed-out.

Guess if I wanna fish-watch I dial a diff setting thru Apex on my phone.
If I wanna Zoas/paly-watch then leave Apex settings alone

If I wanna Baywatch.....I turn on TNT on satellite. LOL!
