What have you done with your tank lately?

I just added a Yellow Coris Wrasse that I picked up from the corner reef on Thursday. What a great little fish! Lots of character and very handy to have in the tank for pest control. He sleeps under the sand about 10 hours a day and then comes out and is very active the rest of the time.

He's making himself right at home.

I love mine

I took some advice on flow from last nights Slash PN and my tank seems to be happy. I removed all but the mp10, I have it running on lagoon at setting 7 from one side to the other tank side. Everything seems to like the flow, I would have never guessed. At first all looked shocked at the strong flow but now they are opened more then ever and swaying around like crazy. Very cool.

Glad to hear it worked for you.

Got a new fixture for the tank to replace my LEDs. It's a 72" 3x 250w Mh(15k). and 4x 80w T5(actinic). One of the actinics were broke upon delivery so thats getting sent to me tomorrow. So much brighter than my LEDs I had on there. I'm going to have to move some things lower to avoid frying them. Gonna start at 8 hours and go from there.

Go Team MH! Mental Health FTW!

Today I added a phos-ban 150, the GFO bubbling around is mesmerizing. I went to corals and more to pick up a pump, and like always even though I told myself I would not buy another coral until the swap.....I got three acan frags. fun times.

Don't judge me,
Tom

You cant post this with out pics :deadhorse1:

Pretty sure I shocked the crap out of my tank. Hooked up the reactor, dumped in the cup or so of GFO and plugged her in. Three hours later I see all my corals are not happy, I then watch some YouTube. And then remove 90% of the GFO and hope I didn't kill all my corals. My monti seems really angry, abd it's normally really happy no matter what.

Did you flush the GFO residue out or rinse the GFO? None of the GFO should be getting into your tank so I don't know why any corals would be unhappy.

I had a bit of dust, and a bit flushed out into my sump. Not a lot maybe a spoonful at the most. From what I watched I should have slowly added the GFO so I think I might have effected my parameters. this reactor stuff is new to me. I'm hoping it will get rid of my little red algae issue.

the three Acan frags I added this weekend.

I also run a media bag over my GFO reactor output. just to catch a bit more GFo from seeping out.

That's a good idea. This weekend I'm going to shut down my system and pull my sump out for a full cleaning to get the bit that was shot out. My corals seem to be happy, the acans and acros are at full bloom the monti seems to not like the reactor so far, it is creating a slim coat and shedding it at night. Done it the past two nights. After it sheds the slim the polyps come out fully but during daylight they stay retracted.

Fun times
Tom

Just added some Alveopora that I won on the Gateway Aquatics Facebook auction. It's doing great in my tank so far. This was a $30 to $50 piece of coral that I got for $18. It's really worth checking out their auctions. You can get some real deals. They just put up a new batch of them this evening that will end on Wednesday night.
