What have you done with your tank lately?

How goes the auto water changes? How many gallons a day did you settle pn?Livestock seem to appreciate it?
Did you have to tweak it any after the initial setup, or has your S.G. stayed spot on?

It goes well. I settled for 5 gallons per day. I cant really tell if its effecting the livestock or not although Im definitely not seeing any negative effects as everything seems pretty happy atm. My salinity has stayed steady throughout and I havent had to adjust or tweak anything after initial setup other than when it works. The DOS is loud when its working, loud enough that I changed the set up to work between midnight and noon when Jill and I are at work so we dont hear it. Other than that it has been a great addition to the system and has made life much easier when it comes to maintenance .

On a side note I started a aquaforest Bio s/ Np pro treatment for my tank. Ive been stuck at 20+ nitrates for a long time so I'm hoping this will knock them down a bit.

120 glass cleaned, sponges changed, Skimmer cleaned, carbon and Phosguard added, 44 gallon water change done, mounted a few frags.

Blew cyano or diatoms off of my rock, changed 4 or 5 filter socks as they clogged up, drilled out my coral feeder so that thawed and shaken LRS doesn't clog the tip, re plumbed my open channel drain so it doesn't block lighting for fuge.

Just put online diy CO2 filter as my PH has been on the lower side. I believe it was due to the house being closed for winter and the system being in the basement where the CO2 levels were higher. At present the PH of the system is 8.00 eggz-actly (according to Apex). I will keep a daily log on it to see the effects as wel as to see how long the media lasts and if it is feasible for a long term solution.

Tank PH readings OCCASIONALLY got to 8.0 after a full lights on cycle. During lights out (with the sump light on an alternate schedule) PH would drop to low 7.7/high 7.6 range. Reason I didnt just run an outside air line is the neighbor on that side of the house constantly sprays fertilizer and insecticide during the spring/summer months. That and I really didnt want to drill another hole through the sill plate of the house.

Added 2 2x54 giesmann razors to supplement my cheep reef breeder photon 16's that have wont grow anything but ricordia and mushrooms.
Already getting color back in my sunset monti!
Next, throwing out the reef breaders and getting kessil -360's

And now

Man I have learned a lot over the years of reef keeping. The one thing I am going to suggest to you is to slow down your flow. Try taking out just one of your power heads out and see what happens. I think you will be surprised.

How do you ascertain that with a picture?

He shakes his screen real fast like an etch a sketch and turns the picture into a moving picture and figures it out that way..... it's his magic power.

Ya I don't get why Pife didn't get that. Its all in theory. Nook Hurricanes are no laughing manner except when it is not your tank.:rollface::rollface:

After 1 week running Sodalime I can definitely say it helped my PH. Before filtering my skimmer air intake through it my tank PH was peaking at 8 with a low of 7.75. Immediately after putting the CO2 filter online it started going up. After just 2 days my PH was around 8.24 max and low was 7.98. Problem is, in a week I have burned through 3 lbs of the material, and it isnt cheap. Cheapest I have found is $97 for a 5g bucket which includes shipping.

In the 90g I am taking down I cant keep the PH above 8, it stays between 7.98 (day)and 7.78 (night)
I should try sodalime on my next tank maybe.

With the Temps a balmy 55 today I have opened the basement windows to circulate a bit of fresh air. That will help.

Cheapest place I found online for sodalime was 87$ for a 43# or 5g bucket. Placing an order in the next few days I think

What was being hurt by your ph levels?
Since the fall when the windows was closed and PH began to drop, I have noticed a slowing down of coral growth. During the week of higher PH I have noticed an increased rate of Alk consumption and, while it may be my imagination, it appears a growth spurt.

Calcification of acroporids occurs quicker at closer to ocean ph levels. Suppressed growth is a result of lower ph levels.
