What have you done with your tank lately?

I also changed my RO/DI filters. My TDS was reading 12. I always let it get to about 10 before I change my filters out. Im back down to 0 TDS now.

I'm going to try and get the BTAs out of my DT this weekend. Theyre basically taking up one side of my tank because they keep moving or are in spots that keep me from putting anything around them. Unfortunately that will involve redoing most of the left side of my DT. I'm going to set a 30g I have laying around and toss all my nems and clownfish in there.

I also ordered a Neptune DOS to automate my water changes. I plan on doing a 5-7 gallon per day. With that amount the only thing I'll have to turn off during the WC is my ATO.

Added some LED strip lights under the stand and around the dark areas of the fish room. They are bright and they change color. I may add more just for fun.

Water changes on my quarantine and display tonight. Added 3 chestnut turbo snails, 9 common hermits and an emerald crab to the tank this week to help clean things up.

I added a Marbled Wrasse last week. Very cool fish.

My skimmer is currently sitting in a vinegar bath.

And finally, I have palys with a wide patch of dead heads. Not sure what's going on, but I don't like it.

I bought a DOS and hooked it up for automated water changes. It's set up to do 5 gallons a day over a 24 hour period.

New lid!

Was able to pull out the last nem in my DT so I have no more in the 220 or the 57. I do have a clownfish tank with 6 nems in it though. lolz.

Also the DOS seems to be working properly and replacing 5 gallons in a 24 hour period , and since it replaces it at the same time it removes it it doesnt interfere with my ATO at all. Im pretty excited to see the results of consistent water changes after a few months.

The self proclaimed Apex control freak went out and bought a Reeflink! I had been using the WXM for years and just on a whim bought the Reeflink a few days ago. I am loosing my mind...

I wanted to see which option was better for controlling Radions and MP40's. IMHO Reeflink wins out on features. Its nice to be able to control everything in one screen interface with Apex but there are many features in the Ecotech equipment that the WXM either didn't do or its implementation is not as good as the native ecotech interface. Some thoughts off the top of the head for Reeflink.

1. Acclimation mode. Very nice feature to have!
2 Lightning and cloud implementation is better on Reeflink (yeah its a gimmick. I know)
3. Control both brightness and overall intensity in Reeflink
4. Lunar phases as % of light intensity
5. Calibrate (I would lose calibration when I link to WXM - I can see the difference in light fixtures at lower light levels)

What I lose is my feed control based off the 4 apex feed buttons (but I could just shut off outlets when I send a feed command if I wanted) and the ability to control the pumps and lights from the same screen I control everything else.

I do like using Fusion/WXM better for programming the MP40's as it just seems easier. I may put the MP40's on the WXM and the Radions on the Reeflink for best of both worlds.

Apex will never control a Vectra outside of power on and off. If I do get a vectra its a no brainer on how to control.

Have to do some cable management and get a second light for the frag tank, but tank room is pretty much done.

An inplace replumbing job while the system was up, replacing the makeshift 75g sump with a true sump, new skimmer and return pump and a 6' frag tank added to the system.

Looks like a busy weekend! Great job.

What salt are you using, and how often are you making a new batch? Have you tested the salt water in your reservoir when it gets low to see if you have any shift in its parameters?
I have a couple of DOS I picked many months ago to set up AWC between my tanks. However, I've had a supply of Red Sea Coral Pro salt. Seems like the parameters shift if it sits too long. I've finally about used it all up, and ordered some IO to try. Hopefully IO is more stable.

I use IO salt.

I havent tested parameters when the reservoir gets low. I just test to make sure the salinity is correct when I fill it up and let it go. Ive let my mixed saltwater sit for a couple weeks before when doing a WC manually and the salinity has never changed once thoroughly mixed.

I don't have a problem with the sailinity.... unless I forget to unplug the heater.
The alk seems to precipitation out of the rscp if it sits too long IME.

TBH I dont test the alk or anything else when I make a batch up. I just mix it and make sure the salinity is close and do the WC. =x

I had decided to start using filter socks again but having a single 4" zip tied to my return pipe meant having to change the sock every 3 days max. I decided to make a filter sock holder while at work. I split my 1.5" return into two 1" pipes . So hopefully I can get by with maybe once a week, not to mention it looks a lot better than a sock zip tied to the pipe! lolz

Pretty cool to be able to make things like that at work! :hammer:

Just found out I'm getting a couple of the new Brightwell Aquatics xport bricks, one being the No3,and a couple replacement blades for my Flipper scraper for christmas. Mainly because I made a cart and then told Jill to buy them for me. Otherwise she wont know what I want if I dont pick it out and put it in the cart! lolz

I intend on removing at least 90% of the LR in my sump to help curb the build up of detritus in my sump.
