What if i use my reef water?

Hey guys,

My 65gal octo tank is all setup. I was wondering, Does the "three months wait" cut down.. if i used my reef water and some sand/ rocks/ out fo my 90gal reef which has been setup for over about 2 years. Using stuff from my reef tank..i am hopping to boost the cycle/bacteria production. (getting anctious, especially since FFE has tank raised bimacs)
I got an Aquac C EV 180skimmer, and a homade sump setup and running on it as well

Also, what do you use for lighting ? I was just going to go with 1- 36" and 1- 24" power compacts...Since there just laying around doing nothing. Sound good?

Sure , this will cut down your time. But how much depends on the ratio of aged rock and sand
to new rock and sand. The one good thing you have going for you is a octo this smalll will put out less of a bio load on a 65gl tank than a bigger octo.

Your lighting should be fine too.
