It will vary widely based on size, species and coloration. I haven't seen many priced under about $40 and I have seen them up to $850. $60 would certainly be a reasonable price for a 3 to 4in clam with some color, IMO.

As tridacnids are CITES listed, there is a mile of red tape to import or export them. It is not impossible, but most online retailers will not send them to other countries because of fees and/or fines for not following the rules.

As said, pay what you think for what you want. But please do your research on the clams requirements first.

Thanks for your prices.

Look at Clams Direct. They have some of the healthiest clams and nicest clams around. So if you know those are healthy use that as a starting point.

Are the clams expensive? yep

My advice... dont screw it up. Clams live for a long time under proper care. Just dont be one of those people that tries to see if they can keep an organism under the bare minimum of conditions.

If you do things right and you have good water quality, good lighting, and fish that wont eat the clam you will only have to buy one and that will be fairly cheap.
