What is normal RBTA behavior?

Timeline:

Bought 3-4 inch RBTA yesterday: It was nicely bubbled up in the store, not long tentacles, but bulbs.

Got it home: acclimated with drip, shrunk to about half size until lights off. No mouth showing, nothing but a bit shrunk. Seemed normal for being in a new tank.

Overnight: it moved 7 inches down in the tank into a crevace. Tomato clown was sleeping in it. (that was FAST)

Morning: It was normal size again and clown in it, then I turned on lights, clown left and RBTA shrunk back to smaller than ever. Still no mouth portruding or anything else but being small.

Seems to be hiding from light. It went from what I think was just a low light Comptact flourescent to my T5s. I suspect it's adjusting.

I seem to read they usually go big during the day and small at night...but mine is being the opposite.

Other than being small, it seems ok. Foot is attached in crevice and mouth looks normal, no spewing of guts. You think it is just getting used to all the new light? It seems to make no difference when I turn off the strong blues/whites and just leave on the purples (it was a used light, I am not sure of the specs until I replace the bulbs, they are bright and not old though)

Seem normal? Or is it weird that it's so small right now?

(I read to attempt to feed it soon after purchse because they don't get fed much in stores, I tried with some squid and salmon, didn't show any interest)

Tomato is not currently in it now nor have I see her near it since she got up out of it this morning.

+1 following.

Can you put up some pictures.

I have heard LIGHT is a large issue. Slow aclimation. I am actually setting up my new APEX with a split L and R so I can set one side to a lower setting for aclimation of light sensitive creatures.

I have LED's. Mine are all happy with the current setting. But I have to set it by hand right now. Then I bump it up every other day. I think I am about 50% on 1/2 the tank right now.

My camera is horrible :/

After having just the purples on for a while it got big again. It's lights out now and it's big with one ecstatic clown tucked right in. :)

I'm sure when I turn a light on it will get small until it gets used to it.

Sounds like it's still acclimating and it's not used to the level of light. I've not ever had this problem myself but in reading other posts, the suggestion has been to layer several layers of screen on top of the tank, between the anemone and the light. Remove a layer every week as it get's used to the light level.
