What is the best method for fraging zoa's?

I have several high end zoanthids that I would like to frag but I don't know a good method. I tried this "hack away at the rock" method and ended up losing a bunch. Someone said something about scraping under each polyp, getting a little bit of the rock under it, was fairly good but I have no experience....can someone help?

I've used two methods that can work equally as well depending on the colony you're fragging. The one I use most frequently is the razor blade technique which involves scraping the polyp off the rock very carefully with a sharp razor blade and then supergluing it back down to another rock. This one works well for getting single polyps in my opinion. I use this method for making frags of my purple hornets.
I've also used the chisel approach by taking a small flat head screw driver and a hammer to a rock and hoping to break off a couple of polyps without tearing into the tissue or scraping the polyps off the rock. This works better when making larger frags in my experience because its harder to get to single polyps this way.

But both can work well, you just have to take your time and be patient.

The best advice I have for fragging zoas is- be safe about it.

Wear eye/mouth/hand protection, at least till you get comfortable with it.
Be carful not to cut yourself with whatever your using to frag the polyps with.

There are many ways to go about fragging zoas. Practice whichever you decide and always think safety first. Take your time, and be carful (for yourself and the polyps)

Thank you guys for your advice....I have been reading pretty good responses to the razor theory.
