I don't think that is tri-color valida. I think it is purple nana. I own both these corals and it looks more like the purple nana to me. Yes you got a great deal.

i think its a purple nana as well, the green polyps are convincing.

another question i had is why do the polyps not extend always? is it because there are too many nutrients in my tank?

can anyone post a short writeup on telling the difference between a tricolor valida, bonsai, and nana? they look very similar depending on conditions. What makes you guys think this is a nana instead of a valida?

just an update, it seems that all SPS that i add to the tank don't do amazing, see how there is no Polyp Extension and some tips have fallen off or turned white, mabye something is picking at it any help or comments on how i can make my SPS reef a success.

Going to need a lot more info, I'd suggest you start another thread and run some tests on your tank because people are going to want numbers for your ALK CAL MAG SG and the rest. Set up description too.
