I bought this tank 2nd hand recently and I want to build a stand for it.
What would you call it? I'm going crazy trying to find something similar on Google for ideas!!
Trapezoid, flatback corner, quadrilateral, half hexagon???

Definitely custom. I would probably just look for/build a rectangular stand that supported the whole tank and just had some extra space in front.

It may be for reptiles/terrarium only and not suitable for holding water..
Don't forget about that too..

It's a corner tank but it looks terrible as a corner tank.
I want to have it the way it's in the picture because it looks something like a half hexagon and something a little unique. I agree that would be the easy way out but I can imagine this being a really nice tank with some love and attention :P

It holds water :)
The guy I bought it from told me he used to have some African fish in it. (I didn't understand exactly because my Polish isn't so good)

NOt much out there, but search trapezium fish tank stand.

Kevin

Also,

I wouldn't leave it with water in it in the tub too long; tubs don't have flat bottoms, for the most part, meaning you'll be stressing the seams.

Thanks, I know :) I put a few towels down, filled it and left it for about 20 minutes and everything was good, but I'm thinking of resealing it because some of the silicone at the top is looking a bit "old".
Thanks i actually got 1 result when I searched trapezium ;)

I owned a couple of those back in the day when those and hexagon tanks were all the rage. Then came pentagon, half moon, rimless, Starfire etc.

It's called a flat back hexagon tank.

Good luck figuring out how to make a stand for it. I can't even do rectangular ones so can't imagine how you'll build that but I'm always amazed by people's ingenuity.

It's close but not actually a hexagon tank because it has 4 sides.
However I want to build the stand so it has walls at the side behind it so it looks like a flat back hexagon ;)

Hmmm...had to tilt my head sideways and look at it again closely. I assumed it was a flat back hex but this one's odd. Never seen anything like it. Haha

Probably Cichlids.

The tank stand wouldn't be too hard to build, would just take some angle cuts in the frame and top.

Yea I just understood "african" and "beef heart" so probably cichlids haha
I hope so, I've never built one before but it looks pretty simple. I just want it to be strong and have decent accessibility to the sump.
