agread cycle cycle cycle will cure for sure. feed less. test levels and wait for spike. could take 3 months ...max.

Joe.... we all know that tanks cycle all the time.... they are constantly going through ups and downs in the ammonia cycle.
It allways fluctuates in my tnaks depending on bioload, algae growth, and temp. Sometimes the slime just shows up, and dissapears a few days later after adding new stuff, or adding other peoples tank water.

I do use RO/DI water. my sons tank which is fresh water has a huge green alge outbreak which has never happened before. I have used tap water on his tank for years. now it is a mess. the drinking water has to be out of wack
