I just got it from my LFS. I have no ideal what it is.

looks like an lps to me Scolymia vitiensis

What is the slang word for it? Haha.

some common names are meat, donut, button, tooth.... there are lots... just go by the latin name and you should be set

So is there a way to frag it?

just hack right thru it... as long as tissue stays on the skeleton and as long as it doesnt get brown jelly (do a lugols bath).. the frags will grow

lugols bath? Have a quick overview? Normaly after I frag I just swash them around in some saltwater then throw the water out. Then I put the frag in normal water flow. That seems to work for me on other corals. But I have never fraged a Scolymia vitiensis.

You might try the LPS forums as I know there are some really knowledge people who do not do SPS and only do LPS.
