What is your "Favorite" LFS ?

Wow ..... really, really "great" info here ...... more than I ever expected!!

Interesting, most places by me are NOT even mentioned and places I never heard of are mentioned several times. I don't mind driving out of my way to see a decent LFS. I love this hobby and the more quality and reputable variety the better.

Thanks to everyone for the many suggestions!!
:)

I'm gonna give a plug to Nature Aquarium in Santa Monica (Santa Monica Blvd at Yale, in the Yale Shopping Center). It's not really a destination store, but if you're in West LA, check it out. The livestock always looks healthy, and there's a decent selection of dry goods. It's a good straightforward LFS.

OC Aquatics.

Tongs for nice, but pricey coral, was my first before. Nice displays and always cool to check out, but I am sitcking with the above for now... better prices and peices for sale and I always leave wanting another.

Pacific Reef for fish, had good luck and cool finds. Sometimes some cool shrooms pass through.. SPS almost non-existant though...

It would help if we knew where you were. Southern California is a little vague. :)

Aquarium Environments in Houston, TX has one of the best setups. I took some pics this week if you guys are interested in seeing it.

Whenever I go down to Irvine I check out OC Aquatic. As for here I have mostly been going to Rainbow Pet, but haven't been to happy with their livestock lately. I've had a couple tangs and a copperband die randomly while everything in the tank is okay, same goes for tests. I'll be trying aquarium city or ocean pet next.

Marks on ventura place in studio city doesnt have much but really nice in there. I bought a pair of true percs from them for 60.00. They arent mated but looks like they will be soon. Rainbow pets I always deal with but like you Im not happy with them lately. Just bought 40 pounds of lr from them and one of them has a group of aptasia on them. the rock in my garage now dont know what to do with it. i got it on sale..

Invincible569 is that shop in North Houston and is it the size of a supermarket?

Its in the middle of Houston closer to downtown. This one is probably as big as the one you are talking about, Aquarium World which was also on my Journal if you look a couple pages back.

I live in Manhattan Beach which is VERY close to all of the wholesale fish stores near LAX (maybe 8 miles or less). Close enough to just "dream" about getting in somehow but no way in unless you know the right people. :(

Thanks...

Thanks...

I am a newbie coming down to LA from Ridgecrest, the Mojave Desert Area. As I am not very familiar with the area down where you all are at, could you direct me to the best stores with addresses and Phone numbers if you have them? I have been to Pacific Reef in Anaheim, Fumi's, and a few others. Still have not found that killer all in one store yet.

Thanks,
Doug
